Founded in 1995, the Crawfordsville, Indiana attorney firm of Collier Gobel Homann, LLC, serves a wide range of client needs, from estate planning and administration to business law, taxation, real estate, personal injury, criminal law, and family law.

In addition to handling the legal affairs of individuals, the firm’s clients include financial institutions, governmental entities, farmers, more than 100 closely held corporations, limited liability companies and other local small businesses.

James Collier Attorney at Law
James D. Collier

James D. Collier earned his B.S. and M.B.A. degrees from Indiana University and is a graduate of the Indiana University School of Law. After a three-year stint with the Internal Revenue Service in the Estate and Gift Tax section, Jim came to Crawfordsville to practice law in 1976. His practice has focused primarily on estate planning and administration, tax planning, business formation and income tax preparation.

Jim has been active in Crawfordsville, and was the president of the Montgomery County Cultural Foundation; president, Lion’s Club; and treasurer of Community Adult Day Care Services.

Originally from Bartholomew County (Columbus), Jim is now of counsel to the firm.

Kyle Gobel Attorney
Kyle D. Gobel

Kyle D. Gobel is a Crawfordsville native and a 2002 graduate of Crawfordsville High School. In 2006, Kyle graduated with honors from Hanover College in Hanover, Indiana. In 2010, Kyle earned his law degree from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, where he graduated with honors and served as an Articles Editor of the Indiana Law Review. During law school, Kyle worked as a law clerk at Rubin & Levin, P.C., a business law firm in downtown Indianapolis.

After graduating law school, Kyle joined the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office, where he worked as a Deputy Prosecutor for three years. Kyle then moved into private practice, working as an associate attorney at Richard D. Martin & Associates in Frankfort, Indiana. Kyle became a partner at Collier Gobel Homann, LLC, in early 2017.

Kyle has extensive experience in family law practice and criminal defense. Kyle has represented criminal defendants in cases ranging from misdemeanors matters to high-level felony cases, and he has represented defendants in several felony jury trials.

Kyle lives in Crawfordsville with his wife, Erin, and his daughter, Vera.

Kurt Homann Attorney At Law
Kurt R. Homann

Kurt R. Homann graduated from Wabash College with honors in 1974 and earned his law degree from Indiana University School of Law in 1978. Following five years as Chief Deputy Prosecutor in Crawfordsville, Kurt entered private practice, partnering with the late Aquilla Groves for twelve years before joining forces with Jim Collier and Harry Siamas in 1995. A general practitioner, Kurt has extensive experience in the areas of estate planning and administration, real estate, family law, criminal defense and general civil litigation.

Kurt’s community involvement has included membership in Red Cross, Montgomery County Historical Society and community theater and musical organizations. He was a member of the Crawfordsville Municipal Golf Authority.

Kurt and his wife, Carol, own a manufacturing business in Indianapolis, which is managed by their son and daughter-in-law.
